The Barn has been restored and modernised to provide a venue suitable for a wide range of activities, and has been used for events are diverse as weddings, pre-school groups, fitness groups, business meetings, parties, and family gatherings. The Barn sits within the picturesque grounds of the small white 8th century parish church of St. Nicholas, which is in an elevated position overlooking Warndon Villages and beyond. The church, a Grade I listed building, is easy to spot as you exit the motorway at jn 6, but as it sits right on the edge of Warndon Villages, and overlooks the countryside, it has feel and appearance of a secluded country church. If you’d like to know more about the church and it’s long and fascinating history, please visit our church website. The Barn makes an ideal venue for summer parties, as your guests are welcome to make use of the churchyard (grass and mature trees), and children are able to play in the grounds safely as the church is at the end of a dead-end lane where there is no passing traffic. The church grounds are a great place for a treasure hunt! Sometimes renters ask to put up small marquees in the churchyard to provide additional space for their guests, and we generally have no problem granting these requests. The main hall has a capacity of approx. 30/40 people, and there are 2 small rooms, one of which is suitable as a meeting/breakout/dressing room. Additionally, there is another room on the first floor which is suitable for meetings or additional party space. This room is only accessible from fairly steep stairs on the outside of the building, and may not be suitable for small children or people with bad knees! The Barn has full modern kitchen facilities including a cooker, fridge, water boiler, and also plates, bowls, cups & crockery. There is a restaurant/pub (Beefeater) and a Two for One pub within easy walking distance. For quick and easy catering, pizza hut will deliver from half a mile away, as will most Worcester-based takeaways.
There are separate toilets for men, ladies and the disabled, as well as baby changing facilities.
The church has its own car park with safe parking, and is well situated for bus services. The train station is 3 miles away, in the centre of Worcester. If you don’t fancy driving home after your event, it’s an easy walk to the local Premier Inn.
The Barn was renovated as a community facility so we try to keep prices as reasonable as possible to ensure that it is accessible to anyone who would like to use it.
