Room Layout ideas
The main hall is suitable for a variety of purposes, and some suggestions for room layouts are shown here to give you an idea of what is possible.
There are approximately 45 adult chairs, and 8 tables, enabling you to seat approx 35 people in comfort for lunch or dinner. For buffet style gatherings, it’s possible to accommodate around 40 guests, or a few more than that if you’re really good friends.
St. Nicholas Barn makes a great place for children’s and adult parties, and the tables can be laid in a long line and covered with the roll of vinyl provided, for a quick clean up afterwards. There is a cooker and a fridge, ideal for serving your own food (try pizza, baked potatoes, garlic bread, lasagne…). For buffet parties, we recommend arranging the tables in a line along the wall, and placing chairs in groups so that your guests can sit and eat and chat.
There are a number of low children’s tables (not shown), and plenty of chairs for smaller guests, making it a good choice for parties for small children, as well as older groups.
St. Nicholas’ also makes a great venue for meetings – as there is only one main room, you’re pretty much guaranteed exclusive use of the hall (please check that there are no hirers booked into the Upper Room if this is important to you), ensuring your meetings remain confidential, and you’re not disturbed by other groups in the building
There is a small, but fully featured kitchen, complete with electric cooker, fridge, hot water urn, and microwave
There is plenty of crockery and cutlery – the crockery all matches, but if 90’s pastels aren’t your thing, you may wish to provide your own. There are also a good number of drinking glasses of varying sizes, but please check if you have a specific requirement for numbers, and mostly they don’t match. You are welcome to being your own tea/coffee/milk to make drinks, or we can provide this for a small fee
